HIGH-TECH and futuristic weapons were the main focus at a French weapons fair this week amidst the ongoing war in Ukraine.
The exhibition space at the Eurosatory exhibition bristles with weaponry from about 60 countries including tanks, remote controlled armoured vehicles, riot gear and display cases crammed with guns and ammunition.
Next to Ukraine’s stand, U.S. manufacturer Lockheed Martin proudly displays its anti-tank Javelin missile like a big brother protecting its younger sibling.
The weapon has been key to Kyiv’s defence against Russia since Moscow sent troops over the border on Feb. 24 and as France hosted the world’s largest arms fair for land forces the symbolism was not lost on some of the thousands of people who make, buy and use advanced weapons.
