Ozzie gives an overview of the Commonwealth Games along with some fun facts about this awesome sporting event. We talk about some of the amazing sports included at the ‘Happy Games’ and the different countries that compete.
The Commonwealth Games takes place in Summer and include most of the events played at the Summer Olympics, including, swimming, athletics, boxing, cycling, gymnastics, rugby and badminton. However, it also includes some other sports that are popular in Commonwealth countries, such as lawn bowls, cricket, squash and netball.
It was also the first multi-sport event to include Para-Sports – which means there are sports played by people with a physical or intellectual disability, along with sports for able bodied athletes.
