Cesaria Evora is perhaps the Cape Verde’s most famous export. The singer shot to international stardom in the nineties. The Grammy-winning barefoot diva put Cape Verde firmly on the map, with her ‘morna’ ballads – songs of loss and longing unique to the islands.
