The British government has pledged to scale up aid it lends to Kenya signaling increased funding for key infrastructure projects. Speaking last evening while meeting entrepreneurs at the UK high commissioners residence in Nairobi, UK secretary of state for international development Priti Patel disclosed the UK government has so far funded projects worth 40 billion shillings in different sectors ranging from energy, trade to innovations. Priti called on the tech community to soldier on with developing applications that have a social impact in the society. Her visit is the first by a seating secretary of state after UK voted out of being a member of the European Union.
