U.S has said that Iranian troops are ‘directly engaged on the ground’ in Crimea to assist Russians in their drone attacks on Ukrainian facilities. The White House said Iran has sent members from its Revolutionary Guards Forces (IRGC) in order to train the Russian troops on how to operate drones. The revelations come at a time when the Biden administration seeks to mount pressure on Tehran to pull back from helping Russia in its war efforts against Ukraine. In light of this development, the Biden administration plans to impose new sanctions on the Islamic Republic.
